Nanoparticles Capabilities
AMA utilizes high magnification transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive x-ray analysis (EDXA) to detect and measure the size and chemistry of nanoparticles as small as 3 nanometers. Examples of these particles include: carbon nanotubes, gold nanoparticles, silver nanoparticles, titanium dioxide, silica dioxide, and zinc.
Transmission Electron Microscopy & Energy Dispersive X-Ray Analysis (EDXA)
- Capable of Detecting, Measuring, & Characterizing nanoparticles as small as 3 nanometers
Typical industrial hygiene sample mediums for nanoparticles are: air, bulk materials, dust, and water. They can be analyzed for the presence of a particle or an amount can be quantified. The unit of quantification depends on the matrix submitted. Sizing data can also be provided.
Analytical Methods
- Air: Modified ISO 10312, Modified NIOSH 7402, Presence/Absence
- Dust: Modified ASTM D5755, D6480, Presence /Absence
